The Timeless Magic of Film Photography
Experience the authentic beauty of analog photography
Film for portraits, weddings, events, and the quiet in-between frames.
Add 35mm, medium format, or slide film to a digital session for a small set of intentional images with real grain, hand-finished color, and archival character.
Why Film Still Matters
When I load a roll of film into one of my vintage cameras, my entire approach to photography transforms. Digital allows for hundreds of rapid-fire shots, but film demands intentionality. With only 12-36 frames per roll, each photograph becomes a deliberate creation and a moment I've carefully considered before pressing the shutter.
This slowing down is more than just a technical constraint; it's a shift in mindset that often results in more thoughtful, meaningful images. There's a mindfulness to film photography that both photographer and subject can feel during the session.
Film Formats: Medium Format, 35mm & Slide Film
Each film format offers unique qualities and creative possibilities. From the incredible detail of medium format to the classic look of 35mm and the vibrant nostalgia of slide film, each format brings its own character to your images.
Medium Format
Shot on 120 film, medium format delivers exceptional detail and image quality with a larger negative size. Perfect for portraits and fine art photography where maximum resolution and tonal range are desired.
The square-ish 6:7 aspect ratio of medium format film creates a naturally balanced composition that's perfect for portraits. Notice the incredible detail and smooth bokeh.
Medium format's larger negative captures subtle tonal transitions that give skin tones an almost three-dimensional quality.
When printed large, medium format images reveal a level of detail and clarity that smaller formats simply can't match.
35mm Film
The most versatile and accessible film format. 35mm offers the perfect balance of image quality, portability, and that classic film look. Ideal for weddings, events, and documentary-style photography.

The Aesthetic That Can't Be Replicated
Despite advances in digital technology and preset filters designed to mimic film, there remains something inimitable about genuine film photography.
Unique Color Rendering
Film stocks have distinctive ways of rendering colors that create their signature looks.
Organic Grain Structure
Unlike digital noise, film grain adds texture and dimension rather than detracting from the image.
Tonal Range
Film captures highlights and shadows with a gradual, natural transition that gives images remarkable depth.
Natural Skin Tones
Film renders skin with a flattering, dimensional quality that many portrait clients prefer.
